If you live in central Arkansas, you know the week in spring when everything outside turns yellow-green. Pine and oak pollen covers cars, patios, and window sills, and plenty of it follows you inside on shoes, clothes, and pets.
Start at the door. A mat outside and another inside, plus a shoes-off habit, stops a surprising amount of pollen before it reaches the carpet. Wipe down pets' paws and coats after they've been outside.
Keep windows closed on high-pollen days, run the AC instead, and swap the HVAC filter at the start of the season. Wipe window sills and tracks with a damp cloth rather than a dry duster, which only pushes the pollen back into the air.
Vacuum more often than usual during the peak weeks, and wash bedding and throw blankets weekly. Hard floors do best with a damp mop after vacuuming, since pollen is fine enough to slip past a broom.
When the season finally passes, a deep clean is the fastest way to reset: baseboards, sills, vents, ceiling fans, and every surface where the yellow dust settled. We schedule spring deep cleans across Little Rock, Benton, Bryant, Alexander, and Conway.
